Course Details

We are pleased to offer this online course on the classical Hanafi fiqh text Nur al-Iddah. This 11-month course explores the work of the esteemed Egyptian scholar Imam Abu al-Ikhlas Hasan ibn Ammar al-Shurunbulali, a leading Hanafi jurist of his time and a teacher at al-Azhar. The text provides a comprehensive treatment of purification, prayer, and fasting according to the Hanafi school, and has remained a foundational work for students of fiqh across the Muslim world.

  • Schedule: Saturdays, May 30, 2026 – Dec 19, 2026, 12:00–1:30 PM (Central Time – Chicago)

  • Format: Online lectures with opportunities for questions and guided study. Students may receive ijaza in the text with an unbroken chain of transmission to the author.
